Nickname: JessieJ
Age: 48
Occupation: Design Engineer
Current Certification Level: IDC Staff Instructor
Best Scuba Course Ever Taken & Why: Rescue course. This is
a course that will give you training in scenarios that will prepare
you for the unexpected. It brought to me the realism and power of
safe diving, and how to be prepared for the unforeseen.
Favorite Course(s) To Teach & Why: Open Water. This is
where you see the fastest and most encouraging change in new
divers. It is an amazing transformation in those two days.
| Dive Experience: |
Salt Water
-
- Cozumel, Mexico - warm water drift diving is the best!!!!
|
Fresh Water
-
- Prescott - Shore dives
- Tobermory - wreck diving
- Kingston - wreck diving
- Brockville - wreck diving
- Lake Simcoe - Big Bay point
- Lake Erie - Long point wrecks
- Kirkfield, Innerkip |
Best Dive: Cozumel - Drift dive,
and I came face to face with my worst nightmare, the Moray Eel...
The more I stared, and the closer I got to him, my fears seemed
to drift away into pure amazement, over such a beautiful creature.
I would show you pictures, but they are blurry, as I was shaking
too much.
Worst Dive: The one where my son and I forgot to defog our
masks... ughhhhhh.. Something like diving in Innerkip at the best of times.
Other Interests: Family, Wood working, Hockey, Hiking, and the
Need for Speed.
Little Known Fact About Me: I love to win!
Personal Goal(s): To continue to challenge myself. I would
like to build a submarine one day, just in case I get too old to
scuba dive, I can still go down and explore.
Personal Motto: "Life is not measured by the number of
breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath
away!"Unknown Author
Inspirational words: "To be successful you must accept
all challenges that come your way. You cannot just accept the ones you like.”
Kudos: Cathy Souch, for her patience while I was learning to
become an OWSI. Alec and Diane, for the opportunities. Brian Wake,
for being Dive Captain of the World, and for his patience and knowledge.
Lisa deVos for one of the best / toughest courses in my life, RESCUE.
Dave Le Fevre for teaching me that it's the little things that matter.
Dave Sheard (SHREK) for challenging, and telling me to stay off the
bottom...lol.. Also, for all the other leaders at Scuba2000, and their
knowledge, and encouragement.
